Lux R Pulsed Light Hair Removal

The handpiece emits pulses of light into the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicles and is converted into heat. The heat then loosens the hair and disables the follicle from producing another hair. The handpiece covers a large spot size making treatment of even large areas quicker. Like all Starlux handpieces the LuxR is equipped with built-in cooling which allows for more comfortable treatments
Before treatment:

* You will be asked to shave the hair in the target area
* Treatment: one or two passes will be made over the treatment areas
* If the hair is very dense the pulses could be more uncomfortable; longer pre- and post-cooling will lessen the discomfort
* Alert the operator if your discomfort is not tolerable; the laser energy output may be reduced

After treatment:

* Immediately after the treatment, you may experience a sunburn like sensation and see redness and swelling around the individual hair follicles
* Treated hair will continue to appear for up to a month. These hairs are not new hairs but are being shed from a devitalized follicle
* Those hairs not in an active growth phase during treatment will not respond as well as those that are actively growing, therefore several treatments will be required. It is best if you complete your treatments as directed by the laser technician
* Permanent hair reduction may be achieved!
